Back to Writing!
It's been nearly a year since I posted anything here, and I'm embarrassed about that. The plus side is that I have a shit ton of fics I'm about to drop on this bad boy, once they're all prettied up and edited. If you're curious at all about my real life: About to hit my two year mark, stationed in Okinawa but am in the Philippines right now to help with all the flooding. (In support of, anyway.) I'll be here for another two weeks before going back to Okinawa, and then Korea after that. I'll be home for the holidays, and then it's back to Korea. SO, super busy. But no excuse for not writing. Risin Sun Goin' Down
I don't really know what's going on in this. It's just a tiny drabble, of sorts. In legend, the crossroads were a dangerous place, where they hung criminals so they wouldn't be able to find their way back. It was easy to get lost at the crossroads, and they represented more than just the physical plane. Robert Johnson was a guitarist from the early 20's, right when blues was getting off the ground. He is said to have been a terrible guitarist--but that he made a deal with the devil, and that he got really good all the sudden. Whatever happened, it paid off. Although he died young, he's still well known. Plus, he's got that cool bit of legend around him. ( Risin' Sun Goin' Down ) | | 12:31 am |

Dead Man's Party
Original Fic! Just getting some stuff posted. Some people have been requesting original works, so I'm going to try and put some of that up. :P This is part of a huge thing I've been working on for years now, where the afterlife isn't all peaches and cream (at least not for those who work there) and it's as bogged down with laws and beuacracy to the max. The original story focuses around Aidan, Shiro, and their human 'friend', Oleander, who has been cryogenically frozen and so although he's been 'fated' to die on a certain day, when Aidan goes to pick him up, he finds the soul disconnected from its body, but the body, in a manner of speaking, still alive. In this world, there are many deaths, and it's their jobs to go pick up souls when their time is up. There's a huge system created by the Fates, wherein they send directions to different deaths for their pick up locations. And fuck Bleach, this is way better, and nothing like it, and I've been working on this since tenth grade. Eulogy (Saiyuki, 100) Title Eulogy notes: For the 100 prompt 'accessories' Goku tucked his armbands under the tattered strips on the pyre. Torn and ratty, they were the last memory of five hundred years in prison. He stepped away, and the fire ignited, quickly becoming an inferno. “He was old.” “He was young,” Goku looked at Hakkai. “He was my savior.” “He is immortal now.” “He already was.” The heat burned him—he was too close. “Where are you going?” “I have thirty-one days. I have to get ready.” Even now, the fire had begun to wane. “Wait—we’ll come with you.” “He could be anywhere.” “Ha! That’s never stopped us before.” Current Music: The Blue Sun (Cottage Creek Version) | | Monday, June 18th, 2007 | | 1:34 pm |
100 word prompt to 'myth'--Saiyuki
This is from a while back--just a 100 word response to the prompt 'myth' Disclaimers: Yes Untitled “Watch out for the graveyard on your left when you leave.” The old man pointed to the end of the town. “What’s there?” Goku, ever curious, asked. “All the bodies of the towns people who died in the War.” “All?” They had run across many graveyards, and this was nothing new. “All.” The old man confirmed. And he disappeared, and the sounds of the marketplace and hum of voices were completely gone. “Let’s go, Hakkai.” Sanzo commanded, working to appear unshaken. The occupants of the jeep were silent as they passed the graveyard, the lost souls of villagers calling them. | | Sunday, April 1st, 2007 | | 8:51 pm |

The Garden on the Hill [FMA]
Name: The Garden on the Hill Rating: G Fandom: Fullmetal Alchemist I wrote this just as a slightly experimental piece. It's kind of a sister story to another fic I did, where Ed comes home after the war. (From a story I'm working on.) Anyway, I've decided to taking to posting in this way more. HUZZAH. Magic, as it were.
This journal hardly get written in outside of my fic posts, and I don't think I've very many readers, but that's how it is. I'm going to start posting my original stuff here soon, too! While walking by the playground today on my way to my Horror Crit class, I found I was envious of the kids. Not because they don't have to pay taxes or worry about jobs (although, I envy that, too.) but I remembered my own childhood, and how a simple thing like water leaking from a hidden sewer was actually a mystical spring. The sky was the limit when I was a kid--my silverware could be small, aware creatures, and my backyard was probably filled with fairies. That I never found one didn't mean they weren't there--just that they were faster than I. And partially, I think the reason so many adults are so dull all the time is because they finally give up looking for fairies and portals mystical springs and what have you. After so long of not finding it, it's easy to become jaded. And we all know adults that say 'Those things don't exist.' And after spending so many years not finding these creatures, and being brainwashed by cynical adults, we, too, become like that. And it's not that I think I'll ever give up hope that there's magic, somewhere, and that it's just taken care to hide itself. It's just that it was a lot easier when I was a kid, and hadn't spent so many years not having my dreams come true. (Nearly every day I spent on the bus I would hope my future self would come, and we could go do some amazing things. And when she didn't show up, I figured it just wasn't time to save the world yet.)
